Project & Responsibilities:
Cutters Studios Tokyo is a creative full service production. We’re looking for a dazzling Story Designer (Visual Designer) to join our team. We’re building pitch decks for promotional material for feature movies/tv series and are looking for strong designers with art direction capabilities who can put a story deck together for pitching to studios and investors. Your role will be crucial in shaping our strategic design plans, and designing & managing the design output. The goal of the project:

• You’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the film and TV industries, commercials
• You’ll have the opportunity to work at a unique film production company working with agencies, brands, studios, broadcasters, etc.

  • Lead Creator (Director) – provides production vision
  • Assistant Creator (Assistant Director) – helps manage the team

    This role’s report line will be the Assistant Creator
    We're a team of creative people and we're very diverse in terms of nationalities and backgrounds. Our team members come from places like the Netherlands, the US, and Japan. Many of our members are bilingual and bicultural, with market experience in both Eastern and Western markets.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Lead Creator and Assistant Creator to execute project vision by aligning design elements with overall objectives
• Create visually compelling marketing/sales materials and pitch decks for company branding and client presentations
• Contribute to visual aspects of film/video production from conceptualization to execution, including set design, props, and computer-based design elements
• Develop detailed plans for design creation and execution, aligning with project strategy and vision
• Collaborate with the entire team to ensure successful project outcomes
• Participate in the weekly meeting (every Monday from 19-20:30)

Who You Are:

• Significant experience designing decks and promotional materials
• Comfortable leading the design process
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Strong-willed and are able to push back about best approach and recommend one’s creative recommendation
• Passion for storytelling and film, and the TV industry
• Experience in one of the following industries, creative agencies, marketing, film, TV, or production

Nice to have:

• Experience in the film/video production industry
• Motion design capabilities
• SomeJapanese ability

Work Schedule:

• Commitment of this project is at least 20 hours per week (open to those who can commit more time)
• This project is hybrid (remote & in-person) in Tokyo

• Looking for mid ~ senior level designer; a higher range of the payscale is reserved for senior designers with more experience and capabilities
• The pay range estimate is based on full-time hours. If you're working part-time, pay will be adjusted proportionally.
• Hiring process for this role will be 60 minutes interview with COO
