請Q has Arrived: Invoice Creation and Management Specifically for Freelancers

Share:

We’re proud to launch 請Q (SeiQ) for all freelancers on the Sollective platform. From today, our members have access to our purpose-built tool for creating, sending, and managing your invoices.

Our Invoicing Features

Our core value is: “Freelance First”: we believe that when freelancers benefit, all of Japan’s work benefits as well. And with the changing legislative landscape of taxation and business rules and compliance, freelancers are expected to manage so much more when it comes to their businesses.

That’s why we’ve purposefully focused on the most important invoicing features for freelancers, in order to simplify and clarify as much of the process of billing your clients as possible:

Invoice Seido Support: Invoices you create on Sollective are fully compliant with the Invoice Seido [Qualified Invoice System] coming into effect this October – we’ll guide you through the process of selecting the correct tax status for your freelance business. ・Automated Income Tax Withholding: Some types of work (such as design, writing, and accounting roles) require companies to withhold income tax (gensen-choushu) on behalf of freelancers. We take the guesswork out of the roles that require this. ・Integrated Expenses: Report and submit receipts within the same tool – we’ll generate the expense reports and attachments for you in PDF format. ・Branded Invoices (Community Members Only): Our community members have given us valuable feedback as part of our closed beta testing process. Since then, our product team has addressed over 50+ bugs, new feature requests, and improvements during this phase. As a thank you, our community members have the ability to add their own logos and stamps to invoices to truly make it your own!

Integration with 契ラク® (Keiraku) by Sollective

Since the launch of Keiraku last year, we’ve saved hundreds of freelancers many millions of yen in legal fees and given them a legal peace of mind when they contract with clients.

We believe in both smart software, and we’re committed to systematically solving the pain points of freelancers in Japan across their entire business.

That’s why SeiQ and Keiraku directly integrate: users who have previously created contracts can now use those same contracts to automatically generate an invoice (or a series of invoices). Both these products similarly are in compliance with Electronic Bookkeeping Act.

Free Invoices for all Freelancers

As was the case with Keiraku by Sollective, SeiQ is immediately available for all freelancers on Sollective for absolutely free. You can use it for your clients already on Sollective, but of course you can use it for clients not yet on Sollective. For clients already on Sollective, there’s smart syncing features that allow your invoices to have many fields that are automatically pre-populated.

What’s Next for the Sollective Product Team?

・New Features and Integrations with Accounting Software: We have several new features we’d like to bring to our community, but most of all we’re focused on supporting multiple integrations that allow freelancers to work smarter, not harder ・Optimizing security, performance, and usability of the entire Sollective platform to be the basis of building a true end-to-end experience for Freelancers

As always, we’re always open to feedback and suggestions on what we should build next. We’d love to hear your thoughts in our member’s-only community slack or at one of our upcoming events. Our product team is just a small handful of passionate builders – if you’d like to contribute to our mission, we’re hiring!
